		<description>The very thing for ladies
In collaboration with Laura Haensler2021

	The Very Thing for Ladies,  is a music performance about the emancipation of female pleasure through the history of the vibrator and its design.

	This project emerges after the MA thesis Good Vibrations. From Repression to Stimulation in 2019. The thesis is a chronological and critical review of the design, use, and discourse of vibratory objects in the western world, from the late 19th century until the second half of the 20th century.
The Very thing for Ladies attempts to translate the theory from the thesis into a physical format, using music, voice, performance, and ultimately vibrations as a medium to reach the audience. They both unveil the history of electronic vibrations from the perspective of the oppressed, sick, and manipulated bodies.
Helena Bosch Vidal and Laura Haensler perform different songs using only vibrators as instruments, mixing both pre-recorded and modified sounds and life vibrations. They play electronic music to recall the club culture, where queer bodies find a space of liberation and freedom.

	“L’usage de sextoys dans le travail de design d’Helena Bosch Vidal et Laura Haensler relève d’une approche féministe des plaisirs. La performance évoque l’oppression historique des femmes par l’empêchement de la jouissance sexuelle, qui permet l’exploitation du corps en tant que force de travail – ce travail domestique dont les outils imitent, comme par accident, la structure des vibromasseurs. Cette proposition installe un regard sur la mise au travail non seulement des corps, mais aussi des instruments qui garantissent l’asservissement, soumis ici à un examen anatomique et musical”

	Dansez sur ce ciel violet. Vous ne me voyez pas represents the story of a woman's emancipation in the form of a playful art installation. The story can be experienced by moving through different spaces, in order to feel, in our own bodies, the sensations she describes.
The narrator addresses the audience. She transcribes the bodily sensations, delivering her intimate thoughts, her lesbian desire, her fantasies, her power and the violence that manifests itself towards her dissident body.
The story will be read aloud, accompanied by music and a dance performance. In addition, fragments of the text will be integrated into the installation.

	One plus one makes more than two allows to physically experience the active and passive roles of power mechanisms: How are concepts such as heteronomy, influence, or immaturity constituted? The work translates the motif of mutual dependence and the question of hierarchical structures into a participatory installation.
 
	
	The experimental structures must be operated by at least two people at a time - only then does the joint settling and sounding out of a balance begin. Communication and mutual consideration are central to this process. The body and the way one uses it decides whether an encounter on the same level - i.e. at eye level - becomes possible. One plus one makes more than two is an invitation to experience the power and simultaneous powerlessness of your own body and individual agency in a playful way.

2020-2021 Understanding in Residence
	I propose a persistent portrayal of myself to examine representations of female bodies as artworks in the public space of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. In those experimentations, I use my body as a vehicle to navigate and to generate languages, and as an interface to embody and question the history of female iconography.
	Project developed during Understanding in Residence, a design and research residency organized by Understanding Design supported by the cultural district of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and hosted by Sociedad 0 (2020).

	Still bodies after then is the second chapter of a long-term project: A body of her own.It is a research project that analyzes and questions the construction of female images and identities. The final aim is to identify the elements that define how women are and have been depicted in images.

In L’Hospitalet de Llobregat — as in many European cities — fetishized naked female bodies are displayed in the public space as statues. Those art pieces are often created, purchased, and emplaced by men. On the other hand, the majority of male bodies displayed in the same space represent notorious male personalities, who never appear naked but rather dignified.

Jane Rendell argues that our position, where we live and where we work, where we come from, and where we are going, is important in understanding ourselves as human subjects. Imagine, then, how the presence of idealized representations and symbols in our immediate environs shape our identities.

		<description>A body of her own2019,&#38;nbsp;MA final project 

	A body of her own is a design project that questions bodies, identities and the way we represent them. It focuses on how the female body has been depicted in Western World throughout history. The project is drawn from the idea that women body has been treated as something to look at, to be displayed on behalf of the pleasure of the one that observes it, rather than the desire of the portrayed body.

	The project proposes the relocation of the power above the female body and image, moving it from the eye of the men to the decision of each woman on themselves.
Using design as an investigation method, 10 attempts to re-draw female iconography have been created. Each of them takes the shape of an object of medium to reshape, position and rethink female body. 
Each prototype refers to different images or artifacts that affected women physicality along the time. The printed edition has been developed with Maximilien Pellegrini, a Swiss graphic designer who set a basic grid that would allow an adaptable system to compile the information of the process.

From its creation in the late nineteenth century, the vibratory object has taken different signification, discourses, and uses, in accordance with the respective context, and power structures of each time.Vibrators were designed as tools to master bodies and sexualities, first from a medical perspective, and later from a commercial one. 

How can one same technological object serve opposite purposes and follow contrary discourses?Good Vibrations analyzes repressive and liberating uses of the vibrator object in relation to female body. It also explores the social and erotic signification of women bodies through the ideas of the French philosopher Michel Foucault. 

This study takes part in the late nineteenth century, with the introduction of technological devices, to the 1960s with the emergence of the pleasure industry.Throughout history, the sexual oppression applied through the vibratory objects indirectly implied an increasing appropriation of those objects for an emancipative usage. Vibrators were reinvented as objects for female self-pleasure and masturbation, but also as acts of resistance.
